Brandlive Makes Live Video Easier to Create, Provides More Data

The cloud-based live video platform created just for brands, Brandlive, has announced the next version of its product. Customers can create events faster and easier, then dive into richer analytics when their events are over.

When Brandlive formed in 2010, brands might not have been completely sold on the idea of streaming live, unfiltered video to their followers. But today, the value of live experiences is well established. Brandlive has created over 6,000 live events for companies including Adidas, Levi's, and The North Face, so it's learned a few things about doing live right.

"Every day, more and more leading brands are realizing that there is so much more to a live video strategy," says Fritz Brumder, CEO and founder of Brandlive. "More than just a social engagement tactic, live video is a way to significantly engage all audiences, across all channels. It's not a matter of choosing which channel to use: We help marketers broadcast on owned and operated sites and apps, as well as social channels all at once."

The new platform includes an improved at-a-glance dashboard, letting brands get a detailed view of all of their events. The dashboard provides real-time data on events currently streaming as well as completed streams. The platform also includes a visual page builder for creating sign-up pages. If capturing leads is crucial, this builder makes it simple to add text, images, and themes, then preview pages before they go live.

The improved Brandlive also includes more detailed analytics, showing how successful the brand was an attracting viewers, keeping them engaged, and retaining them. Stats include registrations, live event page views, live viewing activity, and product activity. Finally, brands gain tools to simulcast their live videos directly to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

"With all of this end-to-end capability, we have brands and retailers using Brandlive for internal and external live video efforts to increase their competitive advantage," Brumder adds.

One company relying on Brandlive is outdoor equipment retailer Cabela's. "With the addition of the Brandlive platform, Cabela's product training has been taken to the next level," says Sean Fehringer, learning and development instructional designer at Cabela's. "We are now able to easily and efficiently collaborate with our vendor partners to provide effective product training to all of our associates in the field."
